Get Minuted.
Windows and Android. Beta — things move, and the changelog is honest about what changed. First run takes about two minutes, most of which is the transcription model downloading once.
Desktop
One installer, no administrator prompt — it installs for your account only. System-audio capture, live transcription while recording, tray app with a global hotkey, and optional start-with-Windows.
- Run the installer, then launch. It lands in the system tray.
- Open the Transcript tab and download the on-device model once.
- Optionally sign in — only needed for cloud mode and sync.
- Ctrl+Shift+R starts and stops recording from anywhere.
Windows will say “Windows protected your PC” the first time. Click More info → Run anyway. We would rather tell you that up front than have you meet it cold: it is SmartScreen saying it has not seen this file before, not that it found anything wrong, and it stops appearing as more people download a release. Buying a certificate does not skip it — reputation is earned per certificate, so a new one warns exactly the same way.
Prefer an MSIX? Every release also publishes one, with our signing certificate alongside it, on the releases page.
Mobile
APK direct, with a Play Store App Bundle for the listing. Room mode for in-person meetings, and a foreground service so recording survives a locked screen.
- Allow install from unknown sources, then install the APK.
- Grant microphone access. The model downloads on first transcription.
- Turn on room mode when the phone is on the table rather than in your hand.
- Android shows a recording indicator throughout. That is deliberate.
On an Android phone this becomes the Play Store listing once it is live. On a desktop it stays the APK, because a Play link installs nothing on a laptop.
Running it fully offline
If you want nothing to leave the machine, you need one extra piece: Ollama installed locally with a model pulled. Point Minuted at it in Settings and the write-up happens on your own hardware. Transcription is already local by default, so at that point the network is genuinely optional.
