The questions worth answering
What counts as a minute?
Wall-clock length of audio sent for cloud processing. A 47-minute meeting spends 47 minutes. Re-running the write-up on a meeting you have already processed does not spend them again. Your allowance resets on the 1st of each month, and unused minutes do not roll over — the app shows what is left and when it resets. Upgrading mid-month is the one exception: what you had not spent moves onto the new plan, for the rest of that period only. The 1st clears those too.
Is the free tier a trial?
No. Local transcription and write-ups are unlimited on it, forever. No expiry, no meeting cap, and it syncs across your devices. Asking questions across your library is included too. It does not include the calendar or task-app integrations. Run everything locally and you never touch the cloud allowance at all.
What happens to my audio?
Transcription happens on your device, on every platform and every plan. Audio is never uploaded. In cloud mode it is the text — your notes and the transcript — that goes to the model. For what the other notetakers publish about the same question, see what leaves your device.
Can I change or cancel?
Any time, with prorated billing. Change plan mid-month and minutes you have not used move onto the new plan, for the rest of that period. Cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending things immediately: you keep the plan, and its remaining minutes, until the period you have paid for runs out, and there is no partial refund. Moving between monthly and yearly is done in Manage billing, which is Stripe's own portal — it re-dates your billing period, so it is a separate step from changing plan.
Do I need to tell people I am recording?
Usually yes, and in some places always. See recording consent.
